Working at Tanager Lodge is a challenging and rewarding experience, demanding a minimum seven-week commitment. Our counselors are chosen for their maturity, teaching and leadership skills, wilderness experience, generosity, and desire to work with children. They are involved in all aspects of the program. While we don’t expect every staff member to be an expert in every activity, we do expect staff to be energetically engaged in the life of the community. Counselors-in-training, the cook, and the kitchen staff also have the opportunity to participate in the regular camp program. Counselors must be at least 17 and preferably at least 18 years of age; C.I.T. positions begin at age 16. If you feel that Tanager is right for you, please contact us.
